Description
Take a fascinating tour of the historic 1871 Pomham Rocks Lighthouse, a true Rhode Island gem and the pride of Riverside.
The last of five lighthouses situated on the Providence River, this lighthouse is still a working navigational light and has been beautifully restored both inside and out.
Your tour will begin with a boat ride to the island from the Edgewood Yacht Club across the Bay to the lighthouse. On the way, you'll give a nod to the other lighthouses that lit the way for mariners since the nineteenth century at the northern end of the Bay.
Pomham Rocks is the name for a small, half acre island located on the Providence River about 800 feet from the shore in Riverside, RI. Pomham Rocks was selected as the site for a navigational aid due to an increase in shipping traffic heading towards Providence in the first half of the nineteenth century.
This package includes a tour for two people and a basket full of Pomham Rocks goodies.
Many thanks to Don and Louise Paiva and the Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse for this fabulous item!!!
