Item Description

Explore the Centuries-Old Narrative of London, England (Europe) for Six Days & Five Nights at the Clermont Hotel Charing Cross for Two, Including a Half-Day Tour of London, a Half-Day Royal London Walking Tour and Afternoon High Tea (Land Only)

Attracting millions of visitors every year, London is the most visited city in Europe - and it's no wonder, with its rich history, glorious royalty and culture of diversity! The striking architecture of the city tells the captivating story of its past, and some of its most iconic attractions - such as Big Ben and Buckingham Palace - are instantly recognizable landmarks. Three experiences will introduce you to the best of London, from the monumental Tower of London; the ever-changing perspective of the iconic London Eye; the symbols of monarchy, religion and power contained in Westminster Abbey; and the genteel tradition of an afternoon high tea!

Your half-day tour of London hits all the highlights! Explore the Tower of London, which is a secure fortress, royal palace and infamous prison all at once! Your tour of this iconic castle and World Heritage Site explains everything, from beheadings to Beefeaters, political intrigue, and the stunning crown jewels. From here you will board a relaxing river shuttle up the Thames, which runs through the heart of London, to enjoy the beautiful sites as your guide points out notable landmarks such as Big Ben and the various bridges. Your tour culminates with a ride on the London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel, where you'll get an amazing 360-degree view over the city! This rotating observation wheel is over 400 feet high, and offers an ever-changing perspective of London.

Discover some of the most important sights within London on your royal walking tour, starting with St. James's Park, where you can take a peek at famous Downing Street, residence of the Prime Minister. The walk continues through Buckingham Palace, the Queen's official London residence and a working royal palace, and continues until you reach Westminster Abbey. Explore a place that's touched the lives of kings, queens, statesmen and soldiers, poets, priests, heroes and villains since 960AD! Not only will your guide mention the wedding of Duchess Kate and Prince William (along with so many other royal English couples), also the more than 3,000 historical figures and great Britons who have been laid to rest in this magnificent abbey.

For the quintessential London experience, pass the tea, please! Attend a traditional afternoon high tea in one of London's most iconic hotels, and dine on traditional spreads that include mouth-watering pastries that were heavily influenced by the House of Windsor, and especially inspired by Her Majesty the Queen. This British tradition includes sitting in high-backed chairs as you feast and socialize - just remember, no clinking!

Just steps from Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden, come and discover what a hotel stay should really be like at the four-star Clermont Hotel Charing Cross, an oasis of calm housed within a beautiful building built in 1865. TOrnate period charm combines with all the modern comforts you'd expect, while the Terrace offers views of the famous Strand below and an all-day dining venue and bar, where you can enjoy a classic afternoon tea, or a cocktail prepared by the in-house mixologist. You can reach sights including The Mall, The National Gallery, the banks of the River Thames and Theatreland within a short walk.
