Item Description

Immerse yourself in the pristine beauty of Groton State Forest on this unforgettable full-day cross-country ski tour. Hosted by the seasoned X-C skier and local expert, Steve Genereaux, you and up to three companions will embark on a meticulously crafted route designed to showcase the best of Vermont's winter landscape.

Adventure Highlights:

  • Trail Overview: Dive into a 12-mile journey around Groton State Forest. This route encompasses tranquil stretches on snowmachine trails and invigorating sections where you'll carve your own tracks. Begin in the picturesque Green Bay neighborhood in Peacham, then glide southward to Ricker Pond before heading north on the RR Bed towards Boulder Beach. The final stretch takes you across the iconic Peacham Bog, returning to your starting point.
  • Gourmet Delights: Midway, take a moment to relish a gourmet campfire lunch curated by Steve. As you bask in the warmth of the flames, enjoy delicious snacks that promise to satiate your hunger and fuel the second half of your journey.
  • Customizable Experience: Steve prioritizes your comfort and wishes. The expedition can be tailored to match your skiing ability and preferences, and the day's weather conditions. This ensures an enjoyable and safe adventure for all.
  • Gear Recommendations: Ideally, participants should use either backcountry or classic skis with fishscales. Skating skis are not recommended, and there's no need for skins. Please note: participants must provide their own ski equipment.
  • Scheduling & Availability: This one-of-a-kind experience can be scheduled on a mutually agreeable date in January, February, or March of 2024.

Venture into Vermont's winter heartland, led by a guide who cherishes every curve and corner of these trails. This day-long adventure promises camaraderie, breathtaking views, and memories to cherish.
